District Meeting Recap

Wednesday night was the welcome social. We gathered in the atrium and were introduced to the first time attendees. I was able to catch up with some of my fellow spouses along with quite a few employees. I met some people for the first time.

Thursday morning the spouses gathered downstairs for breakfast...

After breakfast we participated in the "Kiewit Ranch" which was a team building event where we were split into teams (my team being the yellow team) and competed against other teams to win fake money that would come into play later in the day. After everyone was finished with the stations we used our funny money to "go shopping" to buy silly clothes that we would need for later in the afternoon.

Danielle was a good sport, being our model...

After we had our outfit picked out and our model dressed the real fun began...

Each team had to come up with their own version of a can can dance and perform it for all the other teams and three judges. Ours is quite embarrassing so you won't be seeing any of the other pictures and for sure you won't be seeing the video.

Thursday night was Thorn's Biergarten...
Where they did the Chicken Dance...         WAY.TOO.MANY.TIMES!!!!!!

Friday morning the spouses were able to choose between breakfast with the employees or room service. I chose room service since my employee wasn't there. It was an incredible breakfast. After breakfast I had an appointment at 9:50 for the pampered spouse event. We got 20 minute massages and free goodies from Bath Junkie. We had raffles and a wonderful lunch. We also had a full open bar starting at 8:30 am lol

Friday night Bob made it in time for dinner, which was great!!! The night time entertainment Friday was "Kiewit Goes Global"

All in all it was a great time. There were some embarrassing moments and I did get spit on by one of the "BETA" teenagers, and there was a stomach bug going around the daycare, but it was good fun still.

Swagbucks is the Community That Pays

I've been honored with the chance to be part of the Swagbucks Blogging Program. I am grateful I am able to bring fun and exciting Swagbucks related posts to my readers.

Today we are talking about the new, Free Games Swagbucks offers to their members.  The games go live today for all Swagbucks members. I've been honored with the the chance to try these games out through a special beta program.

There are puzzle games, word games, arcade games. You can play for free for the chance to win swagbucks or you can enter tournaments (this costs swagbucks) to win more swagbucks.  The games seem to be running well and I did not experience any bugs while I was playing. I was able to try out most of the games at least once to get a good idea of how things work. My favorite being the puzzle games. I entered a couple of tournaments and came in third place on one of them. All of the games I was able to try out appear to be user friendly with good graphics, great sounds, and easy controls.

Have no idea what Swagbucks are? If you click the first link in this post it will take you to the how it works page. Basically Swagbucks is a search engine, similar to other search engines, only with Swagbucks you have an opportunity to earn Swagbucks. You can then redeem them in the Swag Store where you can earn things like Amazon gift cards, jewelry, clothing, office supplies etc.

For today only, if you sign up (click on Free Games at the beginning of the post) for swagbucks you have a chance to start off with bonus swagbucks. Enter the code SBGames (case sensitive) in the code box during sign up and you'll get 30 swagbucks added to your account. Add that to the 30 Swagbucks everybody gets for signing up already and you start out with 60 swagbucks. That's awesome!!!!

From Swagbucks: Please be aware that this is a Flash-based games portal that we've enlisted some outside developers to create with us.

The Time Has Come...

I likely won't be blogging for the next couple days unless I do it from my phone.  Tomorrow night will be the beginning of District Meeting. It's going to be weird without Bob there, but I am excited to see all my fellow spouses.

In honor of Wordless Wednesday here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

First snow of the season :)

This Time I Mean It!!!

I'm giving myself one more week. District Meeting is coming up tomorrow and because I know how much food and alcohol I will consume I am giving myself until after DM.

Starting Monday it's all over. It's time to stop this horrible way I've been living. I would like to do a no carb week, but I don't know if my body is still in the stage of being able to pull that off without what little energy I do have suffering. So I'll aim for a week, but take it a day at a time. I'd also like to do a week with no caffeine and no alcohol. Can I pull off all three at once???

I'll be buying a new scale and I'll take my measurements. I'll do a body fat assessment. Well I'll have this information already because I have to get my health screen at District Meeting.

There is going to be a lot of chicken and fish in my future. Along with lots and lots of fiber. I may even do a cleanse and I'll start my Lipo 6 Black... again.

I need to do this for me...for my kids.

I BEAT DIABETES!!!! NATURALLY!!!! I WON'T GET BACK TO THAT PLACE!!!!!

Monday Madness

Sunday night at work was brutal. We were out of there before 11, but we didn't finish. The store looks horrible. The only reason we left is because we had too many people and went WAY over our labor for the night.

I am off on Monday. I will be hanging out at home with the boys. Hmmm I wonder if I can find someone who wants to join me for lunch... I will probably do some cleaning as well, and packing.

Tuesday I work from noon until 3. My mom and Matt are keeping the boys longer so I can get my nails done after work.

Wednesday is going to be a lazy day most of the day. Wednesday night is night one of District Meeting. It's the welcome social.

Thursday and Friday look like this:

Saturday will be a day of recovering from the above.

I Feel Like a New Woman

Since starting at Gymbroee (December 6th) I've been too exhausted to function most days. With Bob gone all the time it's even harder because I can't just go lay down, take a nap, or sleep in while he watches the boys.  Most of the time when the boys are napping I'm either on the computer or doing other things that make me even more tired.

After playing an exciting game of Dungeons and Dragons yesterday (There you have it... I just admitted my inner geek on the blog... for the whole world to see... and I don't care <3), I picked the boys up from my friend Margie's house and they were both exhausted when we got home. I put them both to bed, changed clothes, washed my face, laid down on the couch and I was out by 9:00. Granted it was broken sleep because I was in a little bit of pain and I was texting my mom and my best friend, but it was incredible. I woke up around 2 am and turned everything off and went to bed. Now here I am at 6:00 feeling better than I've felt in a long time and I'm ready to take on whatever life throws at me today.

On the agenda for the day: I have to get stuff for my mom and Matt to make burgers for dinner tonight. I'm working at 6 and I'm hoping we get out of there before midnight. We have New Line tonight and we just don't have enough room in the store for anything else so the organizational part of the night is going to be brutal. I am totally going to be rocking some sweats, a t shirt, tennis shoes, and my ipod. I really need to do my laundry, but I haven't taken that task on while I have the boys solo yet. I've gotten lucky with the holidays and Bob being home so much, but that's all changing now and I'm not sure how I am going to get the clothes to the laundry room with two boys in tow. *sigh*

Okay, I am going back to sleep now :) I just had to post my blog since I didn't get a chance to post it last night.

Change of Plans

Bob texts me today and tells me to call him ASAP. Turns out the Eagle Pass job has too much work going on so they are not shutting down for District Meeting. Which means Bob has to stay there. I was so upset. See, as a spouse I look forward to DM every year. It's the only chance we have to catch up with our other spouse friends from different projects. We only see each other once a year.

After a phone call to Carlos it has been decided that I will go to DM by myself this year. As secretary of the KFS (Kiewit Family Support) Group, I should probably be there to answer any questions since our president is Central District and won't be attending our Spouse Functions.

It's going to be awkward without Bob there, but I'm sure I can find someone to hang out and drink with (a lot of people probably). I know the survey spouses will let me tag a long. :)

This also means I am going to have a HUUUUGE bed all to myself. I am looking forward to that the most.
